Dr Ivor Javen

Did you know what you wanted to do at 3 years old?  Dr. Ivor did.  He wanted to be a vet. Since graduating from University of Queensland in 1997, Dr. Ivor has helped heal many pets throughout Australia and England. His dedicated passion to his calling is evident to all. A true scientist, he has never stopped learning and improving his skills and knowledge.  Always seeking to know if there is a better method, a better, gentler way to heal. Through this, Ivor discovered the powerful process of combining natural medicine, nutrition therapy with the latest in modern pharmaceutical and surgical techniques. What this means is Ivor can offer you so much more to help heal your pet.  A consultation with Ivor has been nothing short of “life-changing” for many pet owners.  You will find Ivor’s gentle kind manner and his never-ending passion for his work inspiring – what this means for you is your pet is in the best hands possible.

Dr Che Phillips

Dr. Che graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science First Class Honours (BVSc. Hons 1). Having a passion for wildlife and conservation, Dr. Che started her veterinary career as a wildlife and zoo vet working for a variety of zoological institutions throughout Australia. During that time, Dr. Che obtained her memberships (MACVSc) in the Medicine of Australasian Wildlife through examination with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists. Following that Che worked in a mixed animal practice but found herself gravitating to small animal medicine and surgery.  Dr Che  has been based as a small animal veterinarian on the Gold Coast for over 12 years. Dr. Che loves being a vet and feels honoured to have met, helped and been an advocate for so many pets and people along the way. In more recent times Che found herself limited by the options that modern medicine and surgery have to offer so she decided to explore “outside the box”.  Dr Che completed a certificate in Veterinary Western herbal Medicine (CVWHM) through the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies (CIVT) in 2023.  Dr. Che has thoroughly enjoyed this journey and discovered how much more there is to offer patients.  You will find Dr. Che’s warm caring manner and dedication to her patients will provide you with great peace of mind.  Dr Che looks forward to meeting all of Bay Vets beautiful pet owners and their furry kids.
